Rogers Road near Heritage Center Drive in Wake Forest opens back up after gas leak

Rogers Road in Wake Forest has reopened Tuesday evening after being closed due to a gas leak.

Emergency crews responded to the ruptured gas line in the 2800 block of Rogers Road near Heritage Center Drive.

The break happened when a construction crew hit the gas line while working there.

As a result, Rogers Road was closed in both directions and drivers were asked to avoid the area.

One nearby business was evacuated during that time.

Dominion Energy crews are on-site working to repair the ruptured gas line.

Drivers are asked to proceed with caution going through the area.
