A second man faces charges in connection with the theft and damage of HVAC units at an elementary school and a business in Durham County.
Mark Troy Smith is accused of conspiring with William Leroy Jenkins in connection with the crimes.

On Aug. 29, Durham County deputies were called to Glenn Elementary School after staff reported that the HVAC system had been damaged and components were missing.
Deputies said evidence connected the theft to a similar incident earlier in August at a business on T.W. Alexander Drive in Research Triangle Park.
On Friday, the Durham County Sheriff's Office found Smith.
Smith was booked into the Durham County Detention Center on charges including:
- Three counts of injury to property to obtain nonferrous metals
- Three counts of felony larceny
- Identity theft
- Obtaining property by false pretenses
- Three counts of felony conspiracy
- Habitual larceny
Smith is also a suspect in a third theft in Durham and remains in jail without bond. Jenkins is also being held in the Durham County Detention Center without bond.
Repairs were completed before students returned to class on Aug. 31.
