600+ cars attend meet-up in Durham with careless and reckless stunts, police say

Around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night over 600 cars gathered in Durham, around several downtown locations.

Durham police said they responded to a noise complaint and a car meet-up with hundreds of cars engaging in careless and reckless driving stunts. 

One person received a ticket for careless and reckless driving, and their vehicle was towed. 

Many social media posts show participants speeding down the road, followed by a heavy police presence.
