A Knightdale man faces charges for allegations that he stole a woman’s wallet and then sexually abused her on Tuesday at Knightdale Station Park.
Knightdale police charged 69-year-old Arnell Jackson with a misdemeanor count each of sexual battery and larceny.

Jackson is a registered sex offender, according to the public registry.
He was convicted in 1999 for rape, attempted rape and indecent liberties with a minor. He served almost 12 years before being released in 2011, when he was entered as a registered sex offender.
The registry states that the last time Jackson verified his address was in November 2025.
Jackson had his first appearance in court on Wednesday and is scheduled to appear again on April 14.
