Spring Lake is no longer under a boil water advisory after E-coli bacteria was found in one sample of the town's water supply.
All customers served by the town’s water system may resume normal water use without boiling, the town said Monday. All 10 samples collected on Sunday were reported clear of contamination on Monday morning.

The town said all 12 follow-up samples tested negative for E. coli and total coliform bacteria.
Officials advise that residents take the following actions as normal water use resumes:
- Run faucets for a total of 10 minutes to introduce fresh system water throughout household plumbing.
- Discard any drinks, food or ice prepared during the boil water advisory.
- Rewash any drink or food contact items (cookware, plates, utensils, etc.) using cleared system water.
- Check and replace water filters in refrigerators, sinks or other appliances if needed.
- Avoid using water from hot water heaters for drinking until several tank exchanges have occurred.
- Run dishwasher through one or two empty cycles before washing dishes.
- If returning home after several days away, run taps for a period to remove stagnant water and bring in fresh water from the watermains.
