A woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after allegedly crashing into the Piggly Wiggly grocery store on Thursday afternoon.
Stephanie Marie Morales drove a black SUV into the front entrance of the store on US 258 around 4:45 p.m., according to the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office.

The doors to the store were destroyed and debris was scattered throughout the front of the interior of the building.
After the crash, Morales attempted to elude Sheriff Jackie Rogers, but eventually pulled over at the AutoZone on US 70. A 10-month-old child in the front seat of the vehicle was unrestrained.
A girl at the store had minor injuries from the crash.
Other charges against Morales included misdemeanor child abuse, reckless driving and child not in rear seat. She received no bond.
