Students were dismissed early Tuesday from Combs Magnet Elementary School in Raleigh.
The school dismissed at 10:15 a.m. due to heating issues. Temperatures were in the low 30s Tuesday morning, and the high for the day is only 42 degrees.

Students were provided lunch.
School buses provided transportation for bus riders, and parents were able to pick up their children as usual. All after-school activities were canceled.
Heating and air conditioning problems are not new in the Wake County Public School System.
In December, seven Wake County public schools dismissed early due to a lack of heat in the buildings. Temperatures are expected to stay cold this week, with highs in the 40s each day, so more early dismissals are likely this week.
Last year, Wake County board members learned the district is $214.3 million behind on updating heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment. District officials have blamed many of its HVAC issues on understaffing, funding gaps and old equipment.
Over the summer, numerous schools sent students home early because schools were not able to be cooled adequately.
