One person died in a crash involving a golf cart and an SUV in Pinehurst on Thursday morning.
The crash happened near the intersection of Beulah Hill Road and Shaw Road around 7:50 a.m. The drivers of the golf cart and SUV were both taken to the hospital.

Pinehurst police said the person who died was a passenger in the golf cart.
“Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the person who lost their life this morning, as well as everyone affected by this tragic crash,” Pinehurst Police Chief Glen Webb said. “Our officers are working carefully to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision, and we ask for patience as that investigation continues.”
Beulah Hill Road was briefly closed but reopened before noon.
