A man charged with murder after a shooting in Raleigh could face the death penalty if convicted.
Damouri Woods, 26, made a first court appearance on Wednesday where he was appointed an attorney.

Raleigh police say Woods shot Darieen Hewett, 26, on Tuesday evening. Hewett later died from his injuries at a hospital.
The two worked at traffic control company Onward Safety Solutions near Brier Creek. According to the Raleigh Police Department, the deadly shooting stemmed from an argument.
Officers responded after 5 p.m. Tuesday to a reported shooting at the workplace on Mount Herman Road near ACC Boulevard. When they arrived, they found Hewett with a gunshot wound.
Police say they are investigating what started the argument.
An employee at a neighboring business on Mount Herman Road did not want to be identified but said she heard the gunshot.
"My coworker went to the front and saw everybody scattering across the street and two vehicles pop over the ditch and dip out," said the employee to WRAL. "It's nerve wracking because what's the world coming to anymore? We ain't never had anything happen across the street. That's pretty close to us right there, just a few steps over."
A staff member at Onward Safety Solutions declined a request for comment.
Woods is expected back in court on Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m.
