First responders were called to a Holly Springs neighborhood Wednesday morning after a man was seriously hurt while working at a nearby construction site.
Firefighters, police and Wake County EMS responded to the Trinity Creek Drive area around 10:20 a.m.

A subcontractor was working in an empty underground tank, a Holly Springs Fire-Rescue spokesperson said. Officials said the man was hit by a piece of equipment that fell into the tank where he was working.
The man was about 60 feet underground at the time. He was transported to the hospital by Wake EMS.
