A hospice patient in Wilmington had one wish: to hug a former student one more time. That student just so happened to be basketball legend Michael Jordan.
Ms. Etta taught Jordan years ago in high school. According to WECT, After several attempts to reach him, a Lower Cape Fear LifeCare social worker got a call from an unknown number.

“Is this Ms. Etta?” the caller asked. It was Jordan.
“They laughed, reminisced, picked at each other, and shared a moment that brought tears to everyone in the room,” staff said.
Ms. Etta’s family said they will carry the memory forever.
