A student was found with a gun at Wakefield High School on Thursday.
The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) said officials learned around 11 a.m. that a student had a firearm on campus.

The district said a firearm and two ammunition magazines were confiscated, according to WCPSS.
No one was injured, and authorities said there was "no indication that anyone was in immediate danger before the search and seizure."
Wakefield High Parent Jocelyn Badulis says she received a phone call about the firearm.
"I was listening at work. And I didn't think anything of it when they said it was just a gun but when they said it was two clips of ammunition, that's when I started to worry a little bit," Badulis.
Badulis' daughter Anna says she didn't know at all.
"I just saw two cop cars in the circle over there and that was it," Anna said. " I didn't hear anything else from my teachers."
Raleigh Police say the student was detained and at direction of juvenile court counselors, the student was released to his parents. Juvenile petitions are being sought for possession of a weapon on an educational campus, possession of a handgun by a minor, and carrying a concealed weapon.
The district reminded students that having a weapon on school grounds is a serious offense and that state law requires a 365-day suspension for any student found in possession of a firearm.
