Wake County is asking the public for input planning the new Swift Creek Greenway linking Raleigh and Garner.
The greenway, which can be used by walkers, runners and cyclists, will follow Swift Creek from Lake Wheeler Park to Vandora Springs Road in Garner where the trail will connect to the town’s South Garner Greenway Extension.

The design process for the greenway will take about a year, wrapping up in spring 2024. The construction timeline will be dependent on future funding, according to Wake County.
A public input meeting will be held Wednesday, June 7, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Lake Wheeler Park, 6404 Lake Wheeler Road, in the conference room. People can also take an online survey to share their input.
