Wakefield High staff member reports seeing someone fire BB gun from car Wednesday

A staff member at Wakefield High School on Wednesday reported seeing someone fire what appeared to be a BB gun from a car.

The staff member said the person fired the gun from a car then left campus.

Law enforcement was contacted, but the school did not go into lockdown.

"Our school did not go into a lockdown because the vehicles quickly left the high school campus," officials said on the school's website.

The school encouraged students to report any safety concerns to an administrator or the school's anonymous tip line, 919-856-1911.
