Former NC State basketball player Phil Spence dies at 72

Phil Spence, a member of North Carolina State University's 1974 championship basketball team, passed away on Monday at the age of 72. Born and raised in Raleigh, he showcased his talent in basketball at Broughton High School before coaching at Cary High School and East Wake High School. His coaching journey continued at North Carolina Central University, where he led the team for four seasons in the early 2000s.
